Aaron Parks was born in Busan, S. Korea in 1953. He had spent his childhood surrounded by water and harbors. From there he would start drawing all the people that would come in and out of the harbors. From his drawings, he later on became intrigued with the details of people’s faces and garments.
Aaron Parks is a remarkable painter. He is talented in painting western scenes in the natural outdoors. His work includes cattle, wild buffalo, and cowboys out in the west. This setting is simple, allowing the subjects to stand out.
His short brush strokes give the subjects texture and realistic features. He balances the use of dark and light colors well, which creates a dramatic look. He captures the adventures and wilderness of the west beautifully.
